Checkers is one of the most classic board games in history – and here you can play Checkers for free online either alone or in 2-player mode.
On the home screen, choose your game speed and whether you need the computer AI to be one of the players.
Also choose whether you want to allow ‘huffing’ – which means if a piece that should capture an opponent fails to do so then it is removed from the board.
The aim of Checkers, also known as Draughts, is to capture all of the other player’s pieces or put them in a position where they can’t be moved.
You can only move forward, unless you manage to get one of your pieces to the other side of the board where it is then ‘Crowned’ and becomes a Queen. This piece can then move forwards and backwards, making it more powerful.
You remove an opponent’s piece by jumping over it diagonally into an empty space. Sometimes you will be able to jump over more than one piece at a time.Julian Cheatle updated this game on 11 Mar , 2016.
